Project Goal
Tom Murphy built his name as a Master Artisan by pioneering the concept and practice of aging guitars. Murphy Lab, Tom’s partnership with the Gibson Custom Shop (yes, a real lab), is an exercise in time travel. Guitars go in new and come out not only looking like they were made last century, but sounding like it too. With a new series of electrics out of the lab, the team at Gibson decided to put them in the hands of players and collectors for their first reactions.
What We Did
Filming in Nashville over three days, our team designed a relaxed environment for six artists to come in, sit down, and play the first line Murphy Lab electrics. Our multicam approach allowed the conversation to flow, capturing honest reactions and stories from the artists as they explored the collection. We structured the production schedule to include product photography in coordination with filming to expand the range of content for the campaign.
